Who:

Pursue Scholars is an excellent organization that provides wrap-around services and scholarships to emerging leaders from Chicago neighborhoods as they pursue higher education. Their vision is to see communities transformed throughout the city of Chicago by this new generation of leaders. (We actually have some Pursue Scholars alumni at LCHC!)
 

 What:

Pursue Unity is an annual event where a group of scholars and supporters walk the entire length of Western Avenue in Chicago to raise funds and awareness for the emerging leaders of Pursue Scholars.  This 24-mile journey covers an incredible cross-section of neighborhoods and promotes an in-depth engagement with the neighborhoods that are home to many Pursue Scholars and alumni.  Our scholars come from all parts of the city and so we’re walking through all parts of the city. All 197 blocks of it!

Pursue Unity is an endurance fitness challenge, it’s a one-day prayer-walk, it’s a sociological crash-course on Chicago… it’s an awesome event to build bridges and promote holistic change in the city.
