In 2020, the pandemic forced us to cancel our annual fundraising dinner. Our team immediately began searching for alternative solutions to raise essential funds during that uncertain time. Former staff member Solomon Dixon proposed an innovative idea: a 24-mile walk across Chicago's Western Avenue to raise awareness and support for our Scholars. This campaign gained remarkable momentum and, through the generosity of many, exceeded its initial goal, raising $100,000.
Now in 2025, this 24-mile, 197-block journey symbolizes the college journey our Scholars embark on for four or more years. It represents the challenges they face and the perseverance they demonstrate with the support they receive. Your contributions will directly provide scholarships and holistic support, empowering our Scholars to complete their education, graduate, and ultimately reinvest in their communities.
